Hey, all! Things are going much better for me these past two days. I was able to get the entire kitchen clean, down to wiping down the appliances and mopping the floor. I even took the table pad off the table and polished the table :-) I felt really good to get all that done. It took a good portion of the day, but it was well worth it. The kids chipped in and helped, one took the dishes out of the dishwasher and stacked them in piles for me (too short to put them away, even with stools) while the second wiped down the table, and the baby was walking around with the dustpan and broom! It was very nice to all be working together. After that, we played school - my daughter doesn't want to do school, so we "play school". She doesn't realize she is learning, and there are no arguments, LOL. Then, it was preparing dinner, eating dinner, cleaning up after dinner.... LOL And bath, book, bed.
Today wasn't bad, either. We had a good visit from "daddy" today. He actually came upstairs by 10am, which is good for him. Usually he wakes up around 10 and comes up around 10:30 or 11. I was folding laundry, and he sat around for a while watching me work and the kids play. Then, I handed him the baby and went to shower :-) Usually I just wait and wait and wait, but I decided to be proactive. So after that, he checked the stove (a stall tactic, it had just been checked before the shower) and came back upstairs. I got the kids lunch together, and left for a day of shopping. No, not the fun kind, but still good to be out alone. We needed a bunch of stuff for the house, like washer fluid, a new shower curtain, colander, etc. You get the idea. I sat down for lunch (for the first time in ages!) INSIDE :-) I bought myself a magazine (for the first time in ages!!! :-) and sat and ate in peace. Then I finished the shopping, got the milk, etc. When I got home he was PLAYING with them! That was nice to see. So I put all the groceries and household things away and started dinner. We sat and ate, and then he left. From start to finish, he was with the kids for 8 hours today, which is more than he would usually see them in a week. They were happy, and he didn't seem too stressed about it. I was amazed.
Also, I was able to keep the kitchen clean, and I cleaned the bathroom. I still need to vacuum in there, but the tub, sink, etc. are all clean. So, that's it for today. We are hoping not to be snowed in by tomorrow so we can go to church. How was everyone else's Saturday?
In hopes for no snow :-)
